Hospitality photography covers the whole property: rooms and suites, lobbies, restaurants, bars, banquet and event spaces, pools, spas, beaches, exteriors and grounds. Cruise assignments can include cabins, lounges, dining areas, decks and amenities.

We can plan interiors, architecture, food and aerial photography together, giving your property a consistent collection of images across its website, campaigns and guest communications. Aerial videography is available as an add-on.

01 Your brief & shot list

Before I prepare your estimate, we define the complete shot list. Please include:

  • The property, location and preferred dates.
  • Each room or cabin category, suite and space to photograph, with the number of locations.
  • The number of finished images needed for each space, including different views or setups.
  • Coverage of restaurants, bars, banquet halls, pools, beaches, exteriors and grounds; for cruises, lounges, dining areas and decks.
  • Preparation needs and where the images will appear—for example, your website, print brochures or billboards.

A photograph in the brief means an agreed finished image. Separate angles or setups should be listed individually.

The shot list determines the production time and the estimate. For carefully staged and lit interiors, I typically plan four to five finished photographs per day, allowing around two hours for each setup and photograph.

Daylight pool and exterior photographs usually require less time and are scheduled around suitable light. The estimate also accounts for editing, the paid orientation visit, travel and equipment transport or shipping in both directions. If you need more images or your requirements change, we agree any effect on cost or timing before proceeding.

An orientation visit normally takes one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the property, and forms a chargeable part of the assignment.

I scout the agreed locations at different times of day, assessing views, camera angles and available light—from sunrise and early morning to sunset and night. This establishes the right moment for each photograph and informs the shooting schedule. Outdoor plans also allow for weather and access.

Following the scout, I work with your property coordinator and relevant departments to agree a daily, shot-by-shot schedule. Each entry identifies the location, time, photograph and preparation required.

Housekeeping, rooms division, food and beverage, room service and banqueting receive their requirements in advance. These may include pressed bedding and curtains, a prepared fruit tray or drinks, and the agreed table count and layout for a banquet. A designated coordinator brings the brief and approvals together so everyone works from the same plan.

Staging and styling are central to my approach. I consider furniture placement, fabrics, table settings and the smaller details within the frame, working with your teams to prepare each scene.

Then I shape the lighting and refine the camera angle and composition to bring out the character of the space. I build preparation into the schedule, giving each photograph the attention it needs while coordinating access around the property’s operations.

After the shoot, I edit and finish the agreed photographs. For a typical three-day property shoot, delivery is usually seven to ten days after I return to the studio. Larger image collections or more complex editing may take longer; I confirm the expected delivery window for your assignment.

You receive a private download link with high-resolution photographs and smaller files for web and digital use, prepared for the uses agreed in your quotation. Together, we establish the image count, delivery requirements and review arrangements for your project.
