First, tell me what you need to photograph and what the images should communicate. Include your location, preferred dates and any deadline for the finished collection. If the scope is still taking shape, share what you know so far and the decisions you would like to discuss.

Next, list the finished photographs you expect to need. For interiors, identify each room or space and the views that matter. For food and products, include the dishes or items and any separate angles, details or group arrangements. A useful brief distinguishes the number of subjects from the number of finished images.

Also explain where the photographs will appear, such as a website, an online store, menus, brochures or advertising. If you have layout dimensions or examples of a preferred style, describe them in your enquiry. This helps us discuss composition, delivery requirements and the agreed image use.

Then note practical requirements: access to the location, preparation of rooms or products, and who will coordinate the assignment. For a hotel or cruise property, please include the departments involved. You can review the hospitality planning process before sending your brief.
